Reading Paraprofessional: Wendy Johns
Wendy Johns was born and raised in Ephrata, WA, a small town in central Washington. She is the youngest of eight children and loved growing up in such a big family. Even though her brothers and sisters are all over the country, they’re still close and appreciate the invention of group texting and facetime. After graduating high school, Wendy attended Brigham Young University-Idaho where she studied clothing and textiles as well as general studies. It was there at BYU-I where she met her husband Allen. They moved to Moscow with their two small children in 2006 for work and they’ve loved this area from the beginning! With their four kids, Wendy and Allen are having fun raising their family in Moscow. Discovering the many delicious places to eat, exploring the outdoors, community, church, and school events, and cheering for their kids on the sidelines or in the bleachers at their various extracurricular activities fills all of their time. Wendy enjoys everything outdoors–especially running, playing basketball and watching her kids play sports, dance ballet and perform on stage. Wendy enjoys reading, singing, quilting, and making fabric dolls. She loves spending time with her family--playing games, traveling, watching movies, watching sports, and having dance parties in the kitchen while her family cooks and bakes together. |

Reading Paraprofessional: Kaeli Houck
Kaeli Houck was born and raised in Mount Vernon, WA where she learned to love the great outdoors- living at the base of a mountain, surrounded by lakes, rivers, and the beautiful Pacific Ocean. She moved to Pullman to attend WSU where she graduated with her degree in Psychology and Strategic Communications in 2022 and has resided in Moscow since graduation. Kaeli is passionate about enjoying the outdoors, with activities such as hiking, camping, paddleboarding, kayaking, water skiing, hammocking, and swimming. She loves to spend her free time crocheting and reading. She has been collecting bookshelves of books for as long as she can remember, with everything from fiction to classic literature, to psychology (her favorite!) and more. She also loves collecting rocks and gardening- and even has a rock garden to combine the two! She is obsessed with baking and loves to make her favorite oatmeal butterscotch cookies for her dear friends and family. She started baking with her grandma as a child and carries on her grandma's tradition of "accidentally" spilling the butterscotch chips for an extra snack as she bakes. Kaeli loves working at McDonald because of the sweet interactions with the students every day and appreciates how she can learn from the students just as much as they learn from her. |
